I'm Sépi, a Toronto-based UX/UI designer who loves learning how people think and behave, and leverages research to design user-centered products and experiences which solve both user and business problems. My true passion is to discover new challenges, develop unique solutions to complex problems and provide recommendations on strategic direction. I would love to see user experience design as a requirement for all designers, in print, web, industrial, and any kind of design. Good designers do it instinctively, but I believe all designers should have this be at the forefront of their thoughts.
I used to work as a graphic/web designer, but decided to transit into UX design because I had become frustrated by how people were often prisoners to poorly designed products that made their lives more difficult. My goal is not only to create beautiful things, but it is also, and mainly, to solve problems and design products and experiences that are meaningful and impactful to improve people’s lives.
Understanding web development as a UX/UI designer allows me to understand what is possible from a technical perspective and to approach the entire process and the different disciplines within the project in a more holistic way, understanding how UX design and development interconnect. Being able to code also allows me to understand the technical constraints of the project which helps to work towards as much realistic and buildable solutions.
